Keep your children sharper through SUPER BRAIN YOGA

"Spare the rod, spoil the child" is a modern day saying which means if a parent fails to discipline the child then they become unruly. Now we have a solution to this. If your kid is hyper active & faces attention disorders you may not use a stick to punish them rather ask them to perform Super brain yoga.

India is home to yoga and thanks to Narendra Modi government's initiative to promote yoga internationally. They have written to UN to declare June 21st as international yoga day. Also they are planning to come with an unique idea of promoting tourism on yoga by issuing Yoga visas. 

India is a country which practises yoga in daily walks of life. In one of the biggest of religion in India (Hinduism) they offer prayer offerings to Lord Ganesha in temples by performing Super Brain yoga (In local dialect its called Thoppukaranam). The teachers & parents punish the kids for their wrong doing by asking them to perform this act. In recent days this practice has faded away and people doesnt know how to perform this correctly.

Steps to perform Super Brain Yoga (Thoppukaranam) :

  • Stand upright preferably towards the east. Avoid wearing jewelry while performing yoga.
  • Roll your tongue inward and press it firmly with the roof of your mouth
  • Hold your left ear lobes with right hand and right ear lobes with left hand
  • Thumb should be in the front of the earlobes, ring finger and middle finger at the back
  • Hold the earlobes firm , inhale gently through your nose and squat down gently to a sitting position
  • Stay in the position for 2 to 3 seconds, then exhale gently and rise to standing position as you exhale
  • This is one cycle, likewise one can perform upto 7 cycles as a beginner
  • A maximum of 13 to 14 cycles is recommended in a day and the best time to do is in the morning
  • Post performing the yoga one can release their hands, free their tongue and loosen up

Benefits:

  • Improves concentration power especially in children
  • Helps kids who has learning disabilities
  • Good for kids who are hyper active & attention disorders

Warnings:

  • Not advisable to ladies during their menstrual cycle and 2 days before and after the cycle
  • Overdoing the exercise will lead to insomnia
  • People with excessive knee pain should avoid this yoga

The next time if you have to punish your kid, spare the rod but make them perform super brain yoga. This means you are not only disciplining them but also make them sharper. Spread this parenting tip to as much parents as possible as a tribute to the upcoming International Yoga Day.
